O objetivo deste artigo é analisar em que medida o discurso proferido no dia internacional da mulher pelo Deputado Federal Nikolas Ferreira (PL) na Tribuna do Congresso Nacional se configura como uma prática de transfobia. O artigo tem uma abordagem qualitativa e o percurso metodológico envolve um levantamento bibliográfico no campo de estudos de gênero, sexualidade e antropologia. O trabalho é estruturado em duas seções: Na primeira é apresentada a origem do discurso de ódio, sua definição e de que forma ele se efetiva, na segunda analisamos de que maneira o conteúdo do discurso proferido pelo deputado Nikolas Ferreira se enquadra como uma violência transfóbica. Concluímos que, os ataques políticos à população trans tornaram- se bastante corriqueiros, especialmente, nos últimos anos, após a escalada de uma onda política de ultradireita no Brasil.

BETWEEN HATE SPEECH AND THE RIGHT TO FREEDOM OF EXPRESSION: GENDER VIOLENCE ON THE PLATFORM OF THE NATIONAL CONGRESS
The aim of this study is to analyze the extent to which the speech given on International Women’s Day by Federal Deputy Nikolas Ferreira (PL) in the National Congress Tribune is configured as a practice of transphobia. The article takes a qualitative approach and the methodological path involves a bibliographical survey of scholars who research in the area of gender, sexuality and anthropology. The paper is structured in two sections: In the first, the origin of hate speech, its definition and how it comes about will be presented; in the second, we analyze how the content of the speech given by Congressman Nikolas Ferreira fits into transphobic violence. We conclude that political attacks on the trans population have become quite commonplace, especially in recent years, following the rise of an ultra-right- wing political wave in Brazil.
